WHAT IS IT?

Micro needling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive procedure that involves multiple tiny needles that puncture the skin. These micro injuries cause a healing cascade, releasing many growth factors creating a new collagen and elastic matrix within five days.

Additionally, old collagen is broken down and excreted by the body making this the ideal treatment to treat scaring and cellulite, both of which are created by misplaced collagen.

Medical studies have shown that collagen and elastin is increased by up to 400% within 6 months post treatment which consisted of 4 x treatments one month apart. One year post treatment, scar fibres have been found to form the normal lattice pattern, as opposed to the parallel pattern in scar tissue.

Micro needling is also very effective in delivering additional nutrients to the deeper layers of the dermis (skin). Following assessment a suitable treatment plan with specific serums to target areas of concern, for example acne scaring, laxity, dryness, discolouration/dullness, aging, will be decided on. WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

It can take up to 4 weeks to notice the results, as this is how long cell turn over is. However, most people see and feel a tightness within a few hours. It is recommended to have 3 sessions a month apart initially. Maintenance treatments should be twice yearly at a minimum.

DOES IT HURT ?

No! a numbing cream will be applied before treatment. Following treatment your skin may feel tight and warm with some redness. This should settle within 24-48 hours max. A post procedure care pack consisting of a cleanser, moisturiser and SPF will be given to aid to healing.
